*-𝐋𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐠𝐞𝐥 ~. ” is a workshop initiated by artist and researcher Ona Bros as part of the project 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐂𝐮𝐢𝐫, which delves into the discourses surrounding genetics in the context of reproductive markets, based on a personal experience of gestation. The publication takes the form of a precarious archive with several layers, bringing together the co-investigation process during the workshop with people involved in the childbearing process and/or those with children whose fertilization utilized genetic material from donors (gametes or embryos). It includes conversations and documentation generated during two meetings held in Hangar (Barcelona) in June and October 2022. These materials explore the reflections of the group, aiming to create counter-narratives about reproduction and upbringing in queer environments, using existing children’s storybooks collected by Ona. Furthermore, the book includes a paper game located on the back cover, which allows one to construct fictional counter-narratives by following the artist’s instructions.
